This shows their hypocrisy perfectly. They denounce Bush for not bringing democracy quickly enough to Iraq, but reveal their own sycophantic courtier mentality at home. The article claims that "France is now a republic", but this shows they are servile monarchists at heart. Are you still demanding Freedom Fries?
